How Conviction League handles the small amount of data it collects.
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] · Operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] · Governing law: [JURISDICTION]
What Conviction League is
Conviction League is a free, simulatededucational game about quantitative finance. You collect and train “strategy critters” and compete on a leaderboard using historical and simulated market data.
No real money is ever involved. There is no real trading, no brokerage account, no deposits or withdrawals, and nothing you do in the game moves real funds. Everything shown in-game is play money for learning purposes only, and nothing here is financial, investment, or trading advice.
What we collect
We keep data collection deliberately small:
- Account or guest session. To save your progress you can either create an account (an email address and password) or play as an anonymous guest. Authentication and account records are handled through our authentication provider, Supabase Auth. Passwords are stored by that provider in hashed form; we do not receive or store your raw password.
- Gameplay & analytics events. When analytics are enabled, we record product events such as which screens you open, drafts you make, and matches you play. These are sent to our analytics store (ClickHouse) and are used to understand and improve the game.
- Optional referral codes. If you arrive through, or share, a referral code, we record that code so referrals can be attributed.
- Basic technical data. As with most websites, our hosting infrastructure may process standard request metadata (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and keep the service secure.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data.
- We do not show advertising, and we do not run ad-tech trackers.
- We do notcollect real financial account details, payment card numbers, or banking information — there is nothing to pay for.
Why we use your data
We use the data above to operate the game (saving your critters and progress), to keep the service secure, and to understand how the game is used so we can improve it. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Service providers
We rely on a handful of infrastructure providers to run the game, which may process data on our behalf — for example our authentication provider (Supabase), our analytics store (ClickHouse), and our hosting provider. Each provider only processes data as needed to deliver its part of the service.
Data retention & deletion
We keep account and gameplay data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting [CONTACT EMAIL]. Guest sessions hold minimal data and can be discarded by clearing your browser storage.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact [CONTACT EMAIL]. The specific rights and timelines that apply will depend on [JURISDICTION] and must be confirmed on legal review.
Children
Conviction League is designed to be kid-friendly. If you are a parent or a younger player, please read our For Parents & Kidsnotice, which explains how we approach children’s privacy and how to request deletion.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy; when we do, we will revise the effective date above. Questions or requests: [CONTACT EMAIL], or [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] at [COMPANY MAILING ADDRESS].
